# Cannot create checks or check subscriptions

Hello, I’ve come back to Sensu after 2 years and I’m missing something. I can’t make any checks or subscriptions. I’ve also read the documentation - it only says what these things are, but not how to make them. I also asked on IRC on Freenode but it seems pretty dead. I remember Sensu used to have Slack. So while I’m at it, is this the only way to talk with the Sensu community at large?
