Hi,
I am currently evaluating a bunch of monitoring stacks to refresh the systems we are using in my company.
Sensu is definitely on top of the basket and we are about to put a POC together in one of our smaller DCs.
One aspect for which i have trouble finding information is the performance i should reasonably expect out of sensu-servers instances.
This is mostly so that i could put together some rough capacity estimates based on our current host inventories and checks/metrics throughputs.
Would anyone know where I could find some documented benchmarks based on particular hardware footprints?
cheers,
d.
Pocking one last time,
would anybody be aware of documented throughput/performance for sensu in any given topology?
thanks,
d.

Hi David,
I’m not aware of any documentation. The benchmarking/observation would have to be done in a controlled environment, as there are so many variables that can impact performance. I do intend to add some benchmark data to the Sensu docs project, at least request/result throughput, using a specific configuration on bare metal.
Sean.

Thanks for letting me know,
What you suggest is exactly what i would have hoped for and would make a great addition to the docs.
Basically something that could used as reasonable a baseline.
In the meantime, I guess i will have to get the info the hard way (…and happily forward the numbers on if/when i get the bandwidth to run meaningful test beds)
On a somewhat related subject that i also have trouble finding information on, is there any documented/recommended deployment topologies? i.e.
Thanks again,
d.
