Why sensu agent stopped running checks even it is sending heart beats to backend?

Description of steps you’ve taken to attempt to solve the issue

We have several entities, their sensu agent still sending heart beat to Sensu backend, but no longer able to receive any subscriptions from backend, hence the checks not run by the agent in these servers.

We have to uninstall and reinstall the agent, then everything back to normal. The agents can run the checks. Why?
