Happy Friday everybody! I want to take a moment and update everyone on a few noteworthy efforts.
Community Chat Next Week
Chris Chandler had a great idea of getting a live discussion on the calendar. Sign up to join our first on Tuesday this coming week. Whether you can make this one or not, I’d love to hear what you think about the idea! Send your thoughts here, directly to me (email@example.com) or sign up to talk at a future events using this handy page: http://bit.ly/sensucommunitymeeting
Sensu 2.0 Alpha
The Engineering team at Sensu Inc are hard at work on an Alpha release. SVP of Engineering Greg Poirier will give more of an update on the community meeting on Tuesday (all the more reason to sign up). Even if you miss the conversation, we want to remind everyone that all efforts are focused on ensuring compatibility with the existing APIs, a commitment to deployability through configuration management tools and that existing plugins/extensions run.
All 15 presentations are available on our YouTube channel here and they are well worth a (re)watch. I also uploaded photos from the event for those curious to see the highlights. Enjoy and feel free to share. Many thanks to everyone who was able to join the inaugral event!
The maintainers and I decided to go into Maintenance Mode for a while and have made a lot of progress on our practices and tooling since doing so. This email list, along with our public Slack, are important parts of the equation going forward (remember that you can join Slack through the IRC gateway after you sign up). Thank you to everyone who’s commented and contributed along the way. There are more updates to come.
That’s it from me for today. If you have any new Sensu-based projects you want to share or new plugins to let people know about, feel free to reply here.
