Updated EOL timeline for Sensu Core and Sensu Enterprise repos

In November 2019, we announced the Sensu Classic archives, which we made available to users who needed to continue deploying Sensu Core 1.x after its official end-of-life (EOL) date on December 31, 2019. In that post, we committed to maintain an EOL repo URL (https://eol-repositories.sensuapp.org/) until April 6, 2020. We extended that deadline due to the unexpected and wholly disruptive arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic in an effort to give our community more flexibility during extremely challenging times (to say the least).

The time has come, however, to take the EOL archives offline, as originally planned. As of Monday, February 1, 2021, the Sensu Core and Sensu Enterprise repositories will no longer be available. If you are still using Sensu Core and/or Sensu Enterprise, we urge you to review your cloud provisioning or other infrastructure automation processes for any dependency on these repositories and take the appropriate action to avoid any interruption in your operations.

The recent Solarwinds supply chain compromise is as good a reminder as any of the importance of ensuring your monitoring solution is up-to-date and maintained. As such, we highly recommend that you discontinue using unmaintained versions of Sensu software, and upgrade to Sensu Go immediately. Here are a few resources to get you started:

Last but not least, if you’d like assistance with migrating your Sensu Core and/or Sensu Enterprise configurations (or if you have any questions about Sensu Go), please contact us via our website, at Sensu | Contact Team Sensu, or join the discussion on the Sensu Community Forums by signing up at Sensu Community.

Thank you for being a valued member of the Sensu Community, and we look forward to helping you achieve your observability goals in 2021 and beyond!
